Israel's navy fires on Gaza shore; fisherman injured

Gaza – Ma’an – A Palestinian fisherman was injured in Israeli shelling on Palestinian boats at the Gaza Strip shore on Monday.

Medical sources in Gaza reported that 18-year-old Muhammad Al-Lawwah was seriously wounded in the shelling and was taken to Ash-Shifa Hospital for treatment.

The head of Emergency and Ambulance Services Dr Mu’awiyah Hassanein said that the Israeli ships fired on fishing boats at the Gaza City shore.

IOF Gunboats Shoot Palestinian Fisherman at Gaza Beach
At app. 15.30, on 23 March 2009, IOF gunboats opened fire at 19-year-old fisherman, Mohammed Mahmoud Al Louh from Gaza City. He was reported to have sustained moderate injuries according to Al Shifa hospital.

  1. According to medical sources from Shifa Hospital, the fisherman was not seriously injured and has already returned home.
